TRAUMATISMO DO HIPOGASTRO - UM CASO CLÍNICO

A 27 year-old male was admitted to Santa Maria´s Hospital with gross hematuria and marked disuria after hipogastric trauma. Symptoms resolved after bladder catheterisation. On the 3º day of internment, after bladder catheter removal, marked elevation of blood creatinine and urea was recorded. Renal and vesical ecotomography followed by retrograde cystography and abdominopelvic CT showed rupture of the bladder dome with urinary ascites. Epidemiologic and imagiologic aspects of bladder rupture are reviewed.
