ENDOMETRIAL CANCER STAGING

Endometrial cancer is staged according to the FIGO (Fédération Internationale de Gynécologie et Obstétrique) staging system into:
- stage I disease limited to the corpus uterus (IA without myometrial invasion, IB with less than 50% depth of myometrial invasion and IC with more than 50% myometrial invasion)
- stage II disease defined by cervical involvement (IIA glandular involvement only, IIB stromal involvement)
- stage III disease with pelvic involvement outside the uterus but without bladder or rectal involvement (IIIA uterine serosa, adnexa or peritoneum, IIIB vagina, IIIC lymph node metastasis)
- stage IV disease (IVA bladder or rectal mucosa, IVB distant metastasis)
